While I was visiting family in my home state of West Virginia last week, I had the pleasure of taking some photos of twins Rachel and Sarah and their new dog, Chico. The twins’ mom and my mom used to teach elementary school together back in the day, and they’ve been close family friends for quite some time. Much to my delight, the weather was gorgeous and quintessentially springy. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!

Earlier this week, I hung out with Leda at Polly Judd Park for a nice little portrait session. It was Leda’s idea to take the portraits there, and I’m so glad she suggested it – I’d never been before, and it’s now probably one of my favorite parks to shoot at. Lots of open space, a nice field area and railroad tracks make for awesome portrait backdrops, in my humble opinion.

I’m super excited to have a photo in the March issue of Outside Magazine! It’s on newsstands now (I got my copy at Auntie’s in Spokane), so be sure to check it out the next time you’re there.
I took the photo, which is the one with a #4 on it below, while photographing Bridge Day in Fayetteville, West Virginia in the fall of 2010.
